Studio Graduation Appointments for Grade 8 Grads -Lifetouch

Good Afternoon Grade 8 Graduates;

Please see an important message below from Lifetouch.

Attention Grads:

As we come to the end of this challenging school year, Lifetouch would like to provide an update about our plans going into the summer.

Under Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen indoor photography remains prohibited until the province progresses into Step 2 of the plan. That is expected to happen in early July.

Once Step 2 is reached, our local studio can once again open, and we plan to provide grad photography appointments throughout the summer.

We invite anyone wishing to book an appointment at our studio to use the form linked below and sign up to receive further updates:

https://forms.gle/ANnBLbR3hDcY9mP1A

We will notify you as soon as appointments become available and include further information on how to book your session.

Lifetouch would like to thank everyone for their patience and perseverance throughout these challenging times, and look forward to seeing your smiles over the summer.

Thank you!

Anne Young

With last week’s decision by the Government to keep schools closed, we know that we have three more weeks of remote learning!  Bobcats, we know it has been tough on you as parents and your child(ren), but we are so close and together, we can do this.

Here are some things to remember and hopefully will be helpful as we push through the next few weeks:

It is perfectly normal for kids to quickly lose focus and find something else to do. Even as adults it is hard for us to sit and look at a computer screen for 40 minutes! Take regular and short breaks! Our staff can tell when kids are losing focus and will give short little breaks or do some fun physical activity or play a game to help break up the lessons and the day.  During recess and lunch periods, get outside!  Go for a walk, go ride a bike,  or run through a sprinkler.  The important thing is that during your recess and lunch breaks, get outside and do something physical and fun!

Finding a quiet space away from other siblings may also help them focus on the live or synchronous lesson.  It is okay to let your child(ren) do their synchronous learning by themselves.  We know that you, as parents, are busy and have your own commitments and work to do. Try letting your child(ren) attend and do the lessons by themselves.   One of our jobs as teachers is to still continue to help make our students feel supported and comfortable to make mistakes.  This is how we learn!

Moment of Silence on Monday, June 7th at 2:15 pm &

Wear Orange on Wednesday, June 9th

As a way to show our heartfelt condolences to the families and the communities who have been devastated by the discovery of the remains of the 215 Indigenous children who died at Kamloops Residential school, our flags have been flying at half-mast to signify that we stand in solidarity with our Indigenous brothers and sisters.  Our flags will be lowered for a total of 215 hours and will be raised back up on Wednesday, June 9th at 10:00 am.   Tomorrow, we are asking each class to observe a moment of silence at 2:15 pm.  We are also asking that everyone wear orange on Wednesday, June 9th to acknowledge and remember how 215 students did not have someone who stood up for them. God bless the 215 students who were buried at the site of the Kamloops Residential School.  May they rest in peace and may their families know that we are mourning with them.

We pray for every family to stay healthy and safe.  Please continue to follow the direction of Public Health so we can all return to school safely in the near future. Remember to follow us on Twitter @ctkbobcats to see all the amazing happenings at Christ the King!!
