Reminders For the Week
Reminders for the Week:
It’s hard to believe that we are already at the beginning of October! Fall has arrived and we welcome the cooler weather! This week, we recognized Truth and Reconciliation Week, where schools across Canada engaged in age-appropriate educational activities to raise awareness of the residential school system and how its legacy affected Indigenous Peoples and shaped the country we live in today. Truth and Reconciliation Week was launched by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and will culminate in the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day) today, on September 30th.
Wow…our Terry Fox Run was a spectacular success! Thank you to all the staff and students who participated in the terry Fox run/walk last week. Thank you to the generous donations on behalf of the school, as we raised over $200.00.
On Sunday, October 2 it is National Custodial and Maintenance Workers Recognition Day. We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Mr. Pimentel and Mr. Jenkins and all our Board Custodians and Maintenance Workers. The role of the school custodian has changed immensely over the course of the past couple of years. We can’t thank our custodial staff enough for their hard work, their dedication to the job and their continued role in the safety of all.
Here are some Reminders:
TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ORDER YOUR FREE T- SHIRT !!!
BOBCATS T-shirt…for your child(ren) purchased by the school : Campaign ends on the 30th , today!!!!!– order your free shirt today!
Every Thursday we will have a SPIRIT DAY at Christ the King. Students can wear our school colours of Blue and Gold or their spirit wear.
Each student that places an order will receive a complementary Spirit Wear T-shirt with our Bobcat logo on it! This is so that they have something to wear on our Spirit Days. Parents are asked to go on Cash On Line and enter in your child’s size and then once the order is processed by the vendor, students will receive the size that they requested. This will be up on Cash On Line on Friday, September 19th and you have until Friday September 30th to order for your child.
It will be so wonderful to have the opportunity for all students to have a piece of our Spirit Wear!
We will also have a campaign for ordering other items that families may choose to buy (i.e. hoodies, track pants, etc.). This campaign will be held in late fall in time for Christmas. More information to come closer to the date.
ThanksGiving Food Drive!
We are participating in supporting our Local Cambridge Self Help Food Bank by having a Thanksgiving food drive. We are accepting donations until next Friday October 7th, 2022. We would greatly appreciate any non-perishable food items that you are able and willing to donate. We thank you in advance for your wonderful support as we try to give back to those most in need this Thanksgiving season.
Thanks for your generous donations
Picture Day is Coming! – October 6th!
- We are pleased to announce that Pegasus is coming on Thursday, October 6th to take individual pictures of students and staff. This year we will be having our school photographs taken by Pegasus Photography. CTK is scheduled for individual photos and class composites on Wednesday, Oct 6. Our composites are unique to each child, they are personalized with their own photo for a very inclusive picture program. No money is collected on photo day and parents will have the opportunity to view a proof prior to making a purchase online with Pegasus company. Proofs will be sent home approximately two weeks after photo day. Parents will have their own unique access code and will order directly from our website, no money is collected by the school. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
