Reminders for the Week November 25

Reminders for the Week

As November comes to a close, we have time to reflect on the upcoming season of Advent and the anticipation of the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Over the next four weeks we will prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus.  To help us count down the four weeks of Advent, we use an Advent wreath. The Advent wreath is a German custom, which Christians adopted, and the wreath is used to help us celebrate the coming of Christ, the light of the World.  The circle represents God’s unending love, just as a circle has no end and no beginning.  As we prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of Jesus, we remember that the evergreen leaves represent God’s everlasting love, which never dies.

On Monday, we will light candle for the first week of Advent; the candle we call HOPE:

We Hope

We Hope in Jesus,

We Hope that He will come again,

We Hope that we will one day join Him in Heaven.

Celebrations

This week our Bobcats celebrated Friendship Week / Antibullying Week. We also celebrated the Feast of Christ the King with a mass with Father Joe. What a wonderful way to end the week.

Progress Reports and Conferences

Progress Reports went home on November 21st and followed up with a conference on November 24th. We really appreciate parents taking the time to come into the school and conference with your child(ren)’s teacher. It takes a village to raise a child and we are so appreciative of your support. If you were not able to come to your designated time, kindly contact your child’s classroom teacher to set up an alternative time.

Christ the King – Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC)

Our CTK CSAC met again in November. You will find the meeting minutes on our website (linked here: https://christtheking.wcdsb.ca/school-council/ ). Thank you CTK CSAC for all of your efforts and commitment to our school

Christ the King – CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE!

This Christmas we will be giving back to our community by collecting food items for our Local Cambridge Self Help Food bank.

At Thanksgiving we did an amazing job at giving back and we truly made a difference. Let’s make a difference again this Christmas for people who need it most!

Some items that are most needed:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Individual Fruit Cups for kids to bring to school
  • Canned meat and fish
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Canned Pastas
  • Pancake mix
  • Syrup
  • Cereal

ANYTHING is greatly appreciated, and we are thankful for our Bobcats generosity and your willingness to give back to those in need.
