It is difficult to believe that another school year is about to end. It has been a rewarding and most enjoyable year for me to have the opportunity to work with you and your children.  Being a member of such a caring community of people who truly care about educating the total child (mind, body and spirit) has been a blessing.  It is often said that “it takes a village to raise a child” and as such, the great people of this community have and will continue to make Christ the King a great and successful Catholic school community.

I would like to extend a special note of gratitude to the staff of Christ the King School who are truly committed to teaching excellence and learning for all; who truly believe in putting children first and who are always supportive of the initiatives.  It has been both an honour and a pleasure to work with such dedicated staff.  Unfortunately, we have to say farewell and all the best to some of our staff  members.   Congratulations to Mrs. McCulloch who will be retiring from a long and distinguished career in education with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.  We would like to thank her for her dedicated service to our students and wish her all the best for a long, healthy, active, and enjoyable retirement with her loved ones.  Mrs. McCulloch, you deserve the best retirement ever and we hope that you enjoy this next journey in your life!  I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Mrs. Barbosa, Ms. DiMartile, and Mrs. Hollohan who have accepted teaching assignments at different schools within our Board.  Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and support during your time at Christ the King. You will all be truly missed.  Finally, Mrs. Gaetan and Mrs. Sarabura will be enjoying a leave next school year and we wish the two of them an enjoyable year off!

In addition, I would like to make note of the many parents who have helped to support our school throughout the year by volunteering, offering suggestions, and supporting our many endeavours. In particular, I would like to recognize the work of our Catholic School Council and members of various committees that work diligently to enhance the learning environment of our students.

We thank Father Foote and Deacon Terry for all of their involvement in our school and faith formation.  We have enjoyed the wonderful partnership with our parish and we will always treasure their commitment.

In closing, I would like to wish you and your family, a safe and happy summer filled with God’s blessings of peace, health and happiness.
