This week is an important week in the Climate change movement all over the world. Greta Thunberg is a 16-year-old Swedish environmental activist who is raising global awareness of the risks of Climate change. This Friday, our very own CTK Eco-Warriors team is asking all students to ‘Walk to School’ as a way to do our part to help raise awareness. They have created a video and have come up with a few tips:
- Plan to get up early and walk or ride a bike or scooter. Most students live within walking distance to the school. If you live further away, ask your parent to park further away and walk to school together. Every little bit counts.
- What if it is raining?: Plan ahead. Wear appropriate rain gear and don’t forget to splash in those puddles along the way.
- Take the time to talk to your parents and explain why you think walking instead of driving to school is important. Start the discussion at home and think of other ways you can help reduce emissions at home.
- Can my parent still drop me off at school? Yes but the parking lot will be closed tomorrow to symbolize our commitment to walking to school. Please leave some extra time to park and walk.
Let’s stand together this Friday and be the ‘Stewards of the Earth’, showing that we care and we hope for a better future for all.
WALK TO SCHOOL FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27th!
