OECTA Job Action:   There has been significant media attention regarding which schools are affected by this coming week’s labour actions by various teachers’ unions.   The only day Waterloo Region’s Catholic schools are affected is TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4.  All WCDSB schools are open and running on their normal schedules on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week.  All WCDSB extended day programs will be open for the day on Tuesday as usual (7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) for students currently registered in the program.

Winter Walk Day:  We are excited to announce that CTK will be taking part in Winter Walk Day on Wednesday 5th, 2020! It’s the perfect opportunity for parents and kids to get outside together and stretch those legs! Walk to and from school to improve physical and mental health, create a healthier environment, safer streets, make friends and have fun! Walking is the simplest form of exercise and helps kids get the 60 minutes of daily physical activity they need. It’s also a great cure for winter blues and helps students concentrate better in class. Walking to school in winter has many potential benefits, including benefits for your child’s health and well-being (like opportunities to learn and socialize on the way to school, and arriving to school alert and ready to learn), our community (reduced traffic congestion around the school) and the environment, too!  WALK TO SCHOOL THIS WEDNESDAY!

Kindergarten Registration:  Calling all future Bobcats!!  Registration is open for Year 1 Kindergarten for children born in 2016 and for NEW Year 2 Kindergarten students for children born in 2015.  Please register online and and call Mrs. Almanza to book your appointment this week.  Appointments are scheduled this Thursday from 3:15-6:16 and Friday during the school day.

Paint a Bright Future with Us! The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is pleased to offer a fee based Extended Day Program for children from JK to grade 6. We provide before and after-school learning for children in JK to grade 6 with a Full/Part-time recurring schedule.  We are available from as early as 7:00 a.m. to as late as 6:00 p.m. and incorporate the same play-based, inquiry and exploration approach taken in the regular school day.  The Extended Day offers parents a convenient school location and a safe and healthy environment for young children with no wait lists .  The program is run by the same knowledgeable Registered Early Childhood Educators from the school day which allows for consistency and security for parents and children.  Our program offers a variety of payment methods including most major credit cards and is eligible for Region of Waterloo child care subsidy.  To register visit

Extended Day Programs will operate only at sites with sufficient parent demand

Confirmation:  Please keep our students in your prayers this week as they complete their final preparations for Confirmation.  They will be participating in their retreat this Thursday at St. Patrick’s Church with Father Ross Campbell.  The Sacrament will be celebrated this Friday February 4th at St. Patrick’s Church at 7pm.  May God continue to guide and bless our students!
