Week of November 12

This year, Remembrance Day marks 100 years since the signing of the armistice that ended the First World War.  On Friday, we celebrated Remembrance Day as a school community to remember and honour those who served and who continue to serve to ensure freedom for all us.  The celebration was lead by our F.L.Y (Faith Leading Youth) group who did a tremendous job in honouring those that have died as well as encouraging us to continue to work towards peace in our communities.

School Council Meeting:  We will be meeting on Tuesday November 13th at 6:00 pm in the Library Learning Commons.  Come join us!

Take Our Kids To Work Day is taking place this Wednesday, November 14th, 2018.  It is an annual event where students step into their future for a day and get a glimpse into the working world. The day involves students in Grade 9 spending the day in the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer host, where they experience and learn about the world of work.  CTK will be hosting a couple of Grade 9 students and we look forward to having them for the day!

Wednesday November 14th will also be a busy day for our Intermediates.  The Grade 8s will be travelling to St. Benedict to experience some areas of Arts and Technology! Our hope is that the Gr. 8 students will make educated decisions when they select their electives in the upcoming months and generate excitement around all of the amazing opportunities available to them as they transition into high school.  A group of Grade 7s will also be going to St. Benedict on Wednesday for the Science Olympics.  Good luck Bobcats and have fun!

Thursday November 15th is Photo Retake Day!  Bring your smiles to school on Thursday!

Friday November 16th is a Professional Activity Day.  Staff will be involved in Numeracy professional development.
