Grade 2 : First Communion
We ask you to keep our Grade 2 students in your prayers as they continue to prepare themselves for the Sacrament of First Communion which will take place at St. Patrick Church on Saturday, April 13th at 9:00 a.m. for those students who registered with the Parish.
Spring Emergency Drills
This week we will begin practicing our required three fire drills and lockdown and tornado drill. These drills are extremely important as they help us not only remind our students of the safest and quickest way of exiting the school, but also help us review and revise our plans.
Cell Phones At School: Not recommended
We are reaching out for your continued support in your child’s positive school community and academic learning. We strongly encourage cell phones and ear pods are NOT brought to school. Should a student NEED to bring a cell phone it should be turned off during the day and in their school bag. The only time cell phones are permitted to be used during the school day is with an exception, with teacher permission. We have Chromebook devices for instructional purposes, so cell phones are not needed. We have phones in the office and all classrooms, any communication with students during the day should go through a teacher or the office. Should a student bring a cell phone and/or ear pods to school and they are using them without permission they will be directed to the office and a call home may follow as well.
Cell phones are a normal part of life for many kids. Staying in touch with friends is important to preteens and teens. However, if phone use is getting in the way of family time, homework, and other responsibilities, it might be time to help your kid manage their phone time too. Are You Moving?
To help us with our planning for next September, it would be appreciated if you could let us know now, if you will be moving out of our school area over the summer. If you know of any families moving into the area with children who plan to attend Christ the King, it would be helpful if you could alert us. The more information we have, the better we are able to organize staff and students for September. Thanks!
Adults in Building/ Yard
For student safety, we would like to remind all parents and visitors to please use designated waiting areas outside the school yard from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. These measures will help to protect the security of all students as well as help to reduce the congestions at busy drop off and dismissal times. Remember you are a stranger to most students!
Kindergarten 2024-2025 School Year Registration is NOW OPEN
Christ the King School is welcoming Kindergarten registrations for children born in 2019 or 2020. It is important to register your child early. To register your child, Parents or legal guardians of the child(ren) are asked to click on this link: https://www.wcdsb.ca/ to register your child(ren) for Kindergarten. Look for the tab at the top of your screen that says, “Register”.
- Next, scroll down and select “Kindergarten Registration”. You will start by completing our online registration.
- Then, school will then call you to schedule a time to complete the registration process.
- The following documents will be required:
- a birth certificate or other legal proof of your child’s age,
- proof of home address and a

- a Catholic Baptismal Certificate of either parent or child.
If you do not have internet access, we invite you to call our school and we will help.
Children with special needs, (e.g., speech and language, vision, hearing, intellectual), should register at the school in their home area. Kindergarten Parent Information Session: Families new to kindergarten in September 2024 are invited to our Orientation Night on Mondday, May 6th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This will be an in-person meeting, families will gather for an information session and will have an opportunity to visit our kindergarten classes. Our educators will be available that evening to answer any questions you may have as you prepare your child(ren) to transition to school in the fall. We look forward to meeting our new families.
